Open Source North is a bold initiative by SDG inc, they wanted to bring a tech conference to the midwest. To help launch the event, they wanted to develop an identity for the conference and then to extend the it to all aspects. They have pulled together an impressive list of speakers and workshops since their debut in 2016 and tickets are getting hard to come by.
It's what's inside that matters
The identity consists of a strong slab-serif N positioned in between a couple of brackets. The idea was to represent this conference as a source for information and innovation. The icons and the plaid pattern lent themselves to help identify the various aspects of the conference.
